The sales funnel is an essential part of any successful business strategy.
Without this step-by-step process of awareness, consideration, and ultimate conversion, you cannot expect to build a loyal customer base or create consistent, recurring sales on autopilot.
By taking the time to lead your target audience through a solid sales funnel, you are laying the foundation for your company’s future, which will pay off exponentially in the long run.
For years, I tried to build a business with just a website and I never made over 100k. However, once I started building a high converting sales funnel, I made over $2,000,000 in less than 2 years!
In this post, you will learn the 3 stages of a sales funnel that you must consider when crafting a perfect sales funnel.
The top of your funnel is going to start with simply making people aware of your brand.
Most people get this first part wrong; this is not the time to jump the gun and try to get sales! The strategy behind a sales funnel is to have patience, because you want to build long-lasting and loyal customers. Most people will run away if you approach them with an aggressive sales pitch right out the gate.
That is why, initially, the only thing you will want to do is get your brand’s name out there and focus on value first.
Instead of trying to target and sell your product in the awareness stage, try to show off your knowledge and offer a lot of value. This in turn makes the audience aware of what your company can do for consumers without making them feel pressured to take action. It also builds a lot of goodwill and authority along the way.
In terms of sales funnel mechanics, this is done with free videos, opt-ins and lead magnets.
In the consideration phase, which is the middle of the sales funnel, you will take steps to target your brand’s audience more directly.
This is where you will be trying to build a potential customer base with entry level offers. Now that you have made the general public aware of your brand, you are going to try to take that awareness, pull out the people who may actually purchase your product or service, and advertise directly to them.
In marketing terms, this is known as retargeting and, it’s where we make A LOT of our money $$$.
There are many different strategies to use in the consideration phase of the sales funnel. In this stage, you will want to use solid content in your advertising and email campaigns to engage your potential customers and nurture those relationships, pushing products under a few hundred dollars.
You can also send your targeted audience free trial runs, $1 trials, free plus shipping, tripwires to push them towards conversion.
3. High Ticket Conversion / Sales
Now that your potential customers have made it towards the top or bottom of the sales funnel and are converting into loyal customers, your final push will to be get them on your main flagship products and services.
Remember, the conversion phase of the sales funnel is about transactions and you are targeting the people who have moved through the first 2 phases.
Within this part of your funnel, you’ll likely have products such as coaching, live events, group coaching, higher ticket courses, etc.
Price range varies depending on industry, but it can be anywhere from $500 to $10,000 or even more.
This part of the funnel depends heavily on the first 2 steps, because you can’t sell the expensive, high end programs if you’ve not added enough value / content and built enough expert authority out the gate.
